10 Minutes away from the beach and all the trendy bars of renewing Jaffa Beautiful, spacious and sunny
What's in it?Beautiful, spacious and sunny. In one of Israel's most beautiful and historic areas. feel at home and yet enjoy all that the trendy Jaffa has to offer. What is the area like? This is the opportunity to stay amongst a rising French colony and local artists in Jaffa. The historic port, flea market, mosques , synagogues and churches all exist in harmony here. There is a great promenade to walk all along the city's beachfront and you can go down to the Jaffa port to see the local fishing boats. The Flea Market sells anything from vintage clothing, to carpets and antiques. What shall I have for lunch? If history is Jaffa's number one specialty then food is a very close second. The flavors, variety and relative inexpensiveness of the food have had Tel Avivan's coming here to dine for decades. Where can I empty my wallet? In Jaffa this won't be a problem. From clothes to antiques and everything in between can be found here. Fashionable clothing outlets like Castro sit side by side with stall selling locally produced art and jewelry. However there are some ‘must visit' places in order to feel the true Jaffa shopping experience. The first is Shuk Hapishpishim (The Flea Market). Set among the narrow streets filled with workshops and storage centres belonging to the 19th century Arab quarter; it is a warren of junk, bargains and crafts. Open every day except Saturday - it's worth getting there early if you want to find a real bargain! Arts and Entertainment?Jaffa is packed full of places to visit and land mark buildings too numerous to list here. The narrow winding cobble streets can make it difficult to reach your destination. With this in mind it may be worthwhile joining an organized walking tour. There are many but among the more reputable include Mishkenot Ruth Daniel. These guys offer great tours through the most pertinent and historic areas. If you are a bit more adventurous a trip along the beach front promenade up to Neve Tzedek is well worth the 30 minute walk. Built way back in 1887 by a group of Jewish families Neve Tzedek has today become regarded as one of the most beautiful and stylish areas in Tel Aviv. Home to rich Israeli's and expats this area has a vibrant nightlife set among its old streets. Café's bars and ice cream parlors are buzzing with people at night while local clothing, jewelry and pottery shops dominate the scene by day. The Ilana Gur art museum is in the old port and there are local working museums of Judaica arts and crafts. In the evenings enjoy a glass of wine at " Yoezer Wine Bar" or ask the locals to direct you to " Margoza" a small but trendy bar where live bands might be found Let's Get PracticalJaffa is well geared to handle foreign visitors with ATM cash machines in English around the Clock Tower area. Here you can also buy phone cards, maps and guide books, and change money. No 10 bus on Yefet Street will take you into Tel Aviv and runs about every twenty minutes.
