What's in it?

What is the area like?

Neve Tzedek is one of Tel Aviv's oldest neighborhoods. The area is newly renovated while keeping its mediterranean village charm. And many of the old historic homes have been beautifully restored to their original glory. The apartment is a few steps away from the Jaffa Port, flea market and historic Old Jaffa, with its winding streets and artists colony. You can walk along the promenade to both Frishman and Gordon beaches.

What shall I have for lunch?

You can walk along the promenade to Tzal HaYam which offers Mediterranean style lunches and dinners. The best American style hamburger is offered on the menu here, too. For a special treat try the mediterranean salads and fresh breads.

"Ali Karawan" is around the corner and is one of Tel Aviv's most famous hummus places. In the Jaffa Flea Market, try "Pua" for local Israeli style home cooking, or for excellent steaks and meat, "Charcouterie". For something more typical, head to "Dr Shakshuka" near the Jaffa Clock Tower.

Where can I empty my wallet?

While walking through this beautiful neighborhood find your way to Israel's daily bazaar, called Shuk HaCarmel. Its open market stalls will invite you with local breads, pastries, and selections of souvenirs to take back home. You can also stock your fridge here with exotic delicacies from around the world. A walk to Old Jaffa will take you to another shuk where you can find everything from nargilahs to magic carpets. There is also a large selection of antique stores to browse in Old Jaffa.

Arts and Entertainment?

Both the Reuven Rubin and Chaim Bialik museums are a short walk away on Bialik Street. Enjoy Rubin's collection of oil paintings or gaze on Chaim Bialik's great selection of manuscripts and poetry in his home left exactly as he had left it when he died.

Ilana Goor has a museum and gallery in the Old Port in Jaffa and for an evening drink try "Yoezer Wine Bar" near the Clock Tower. There are excellent fish and seafood restaurants open in the evenings on Kedem Street.

Let's Get Practical

In Neve Tzedek you are close to ATMs, cash exchange kiosks, cabs are on all streets 24/7 and buses around town are fun and inexpensive. Ask the concierge to be sure which buses to use to get around.
